Progression:

Skill, Speed, Stamina -

4 Week course

This is the perfect next step for those who have completed our Beginners, C25KM or River Workshop.

You have mastered the standing up part and are now looking to develop your technique.

The course consists for 4 x 1 hours sessions taken over consecutive weeks plus a Beginner Friendly Adventure booked at a later date.

Over the 4 weeks we will cover how to paddle with efficiency, how to paddle straighter and faster for longer and how to engage our core muscles to sustain power. Setting you up to enjoy all of our adventures that take place up and down the country and across the world!

Included in the course is a Beginner Friendly Adventure that will be booked separately via a link. You can select a time, location, day that suits you. Beginners Friendly Adventures are usually within an hours drive of central Nottingham and last between two and three hours.

If you can’t commit to the 4 weeks we also do drop in progression sessions and a two hour progression workshop.

Looking for something more advanced check out our skills and drills sessions.

Is this for me?

Suitable for those that have paddled before and can stand up for the majority of the session. This is the perfect course for those that have completed couch to 5km or have been advised by their instructor to take this course after a beginners workshop. Over 18s.

Course Breakdown

Week 1

Perfect Catch

How to enter your paddle in an effective and efficient way to make your board go where you want it to go.

This will help you paddle straighter and improve manoeuvrability on your board.

Week 2

Buns over Guns

Utilising your bigger muscle groups and bodyweight to paddle longer and stronger.

Week 3

The Recovery

What happens to our paddle when it’s out or the water? We'll learn what to do with our paddle during its ‘airtime’ to improve our speed, endurance, and efficiency.

Week 4

Intro to Intervals

Training zones, speed, and cadence. Don’t worry it’s not as scary as it sounds but your heart will be working hard. A great session if you want to think about racing, endurance or improving your fitness with SUP.

Beginner Friendly Adventure

You will book this separately after your course has finished and is included in the price. We will be exploring a waterway within an hours drive of Nottingham. Check out the Beginner Friendly Adventure page for dates and locations or come join us on a Thursday Morning Adventure.
