SUP Thailand Adventure

Thailand 2027

Our 2027 Thailand adventures are now open, and we're looking forward to another winter of paddling, exploring and chasing the blue in Kanchanaburi.

Our seven-day Thailand Adventure gives you time to properly settle into the landscape, explore the rivers and lakes, and experience everything that makes this corner of Thailand so special.

We've got two seven-day adventures to choose from:

2–8 December 2027
14–20 December 2027

We also have adventures over Christmas and New Year:

22–26 December 2027
29 December 2027–2 January 2028

Whether you join us for seven days, Christmas or New Year, you can expect incredible paddling, beautiful surroundings, great food and plenty of time to experience Thailand at a pace that feels right for you.

And if you're also joining us for the Race to the Jungle 2027, we've deliberately timed these adventures so they work beautifully alongside the race. The 2–8 December adventure leads into race weekend, giving you time to arrive, acclimatise and explore before the event. The 14–20 December adventure follows the race, giving you the chance to slow down, celebrate and continue your Thai adventure afterwards.

You can join us for the adventure, the race, or make a bigger Thailand trip of both.

And if you're travelling with a friend or partner who doesn't want to paddle every day, or at all, our Partners of Paddlers itinerary means they can have their own Thai adventure alongside you, with plenty of opportunities to share experiences along the way.

Paddling This is a downriver adventure paddle on moving water. You should be comfortable paddling on flowing rivers (for example, something like the River Trent). If you’re newer to multi-day or adventure paddling holidays, don’t worry, we have plenty of time to support, coach, and build your confidence. If you’re unsure, please get in touch and we can make a plan together.

The River flows steadily, and we paddle with the current, meaning we cruise downstream, watch the km drift by, and enjoy the ride. Depending on if the dam has been opened upriver the flow can be between 5 and 10kmph without paddling. We’ll typically paddle: Morning and/or afternoon sessions Approx. 2–3 hours per session With a long lunch stop in between to eat, swim, snooze, and sightsee Our land-based support team meets us at the river at the end of each day.

Are you a POP - Partner or friend of a Paddler?

Travelling with a friend or partner who loves to paddle, but don’t fancy being on a board yourself? You can still be part of the adventure.

Our Partners of Paddlers itinerary gives you your own way to experience Thailand, with waterfalls, wildlife, culture, history, cycling, great food and plenty of time to explore and relax. Some days you’ll share experiences with the paddlers, while on others you’ll head off on your own adventure and meet back up later.

You can do as much or as little as you like. It’s Thailand, your way.

Food & Dietary Needs We’re very happy to cater for dietary requirements. Meals are shared as a group, with dedicated tables for vegetarian and vegan options, so there’s no cross contamination.

Hotel Views Great Food & Coffee Our local guides carefully choose each meal to balance authenticity with comfort, introducing the flavours of the region while ensuring the food sits well with our taste palettes. Eating well, having lots of choice and a full belly is part of the adventure, and a big part of experiencing the area we’re travelling through.

THE PLAN

Days 1–3: River Kwai Yai
Days 4–7: River Kwai Noi

Day 1 | Lake Views & The River Begins

We leave Bangkok by coach and head towards the Tha Thung Na Dam, arriving south of Erawan National Park for our first paddle on the lake, surrounded by magnificent mountain and jungle views.

We'll paddle to the beautiful Lakeview Café for lunch before beginning our downriver adventure, following the river through wilderness rich in wildlife.

Then it's on to the Royal River Kwai Resort to check in, swim, relax and enjoy dinner by the river.

Day 2 | Erawan Falls & Downriver

After breakfast, we head to spectacular Erawan Falls, with its seven levels of waterfalls tucked into the surrounding national park.

There's time to explore, walk the trails and enjoy a waterfall swim before lunch, then we'll return to the river where we left off yesterday and continue our journey downstream.

Keep your eyes peeled along the riverbanks. Will we spot elephants today?

We'll finish near the Royal River Kwai Resort, with time for a swim, a massage or simply to relax before dinner by the river.

Day 3 | The Bridge & Kanchanaburi's History

After breakfast, we paddle towards the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai.

Will the train be there to greet us?

After lunch and a taste of the famous Khao Soi, you'll have a choice of afternoon activities. Explore the Thai-Burma Railway Museum and walk across the bridge, visit the WWII historical sites and POW Cemetery with an expat historical researcher, visit one of the local temples, or simply enjoy some free time at the hotel.

We'll meet again for dinner, watching the sunset over the Bridge before returning to the resort.

There's also the option to head back later for a cocktail, some nightlife or karaoke.

Day 4 | Bikes & The River Kwai Noi

After breakfast at the Royal River Kwai Resort, enjoy a relaxed morning by the pool, book a massage or grab a bike and join our cycling scavenger hunt.

It's a fun, fully supported way to explore more of the local area before we check out and transfer to the River Kwai Noi.

Then we're back on the water, paddling through beautiful, unspoiled wilderness. We'll stop for lunch at a scenic riverside spot before continuing downstream.

If the dam has been opened, this can be a fast and exciting stretch of river.

We'll exit the river and make the short transfer to our next riverside home for dinner and a relaxed evening.

Day 5 | Sai Yok National Park

After breakfast, we check out and continue our journey downstream through Sai Yok National Park.

This is one of the most spectacular sections of the trip, with dramatic canyon scenery and multiple waterfalls along the river. Depending on rainfall, we can see anywhere from three to seven waterfalls as we paddle through the park.

We'll stop for lunch along the way before continuing to our resort, where there's time to swim, relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 6 | Hellfire Pass & Paddle

After breakfast, we'll transfer to the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre.

There's time to visit the museum, walk part of the memorial trail and take in the landscape before lunch.

Then it's back to the river, returning to the previous day's exit point and continuing downstream.

With a flexible finish time, there's no need to rush. At the Resort, we'll have time for some yoga on the lawn, dinner and a relaxed final evening by the river.

Day 7 | The Final Paddle

After breakfast, we return to the river for our final paddle, exploring a unique stretch through a beautiful, mountain-ringed valley.

We'll finish with a farewell lunch at a local restaurant before beginning our journey back to Bangkok in the afternoon.

Partners of Paddlers

The Partners of Paddlers itinerary isn't about filling every minute while someone else is out paddling. It's about having your own adventure, while still being part of the bigger experience.

While the paddlers are out exploring the rivers and lakes of Kanchanaburi, you'll have the chance to discover the region too. Waterfalls, wildlife, local culture, history, cycling, great food and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Some days you'll be exploring together. Some days you'll head off in different directions and meet back up later. And some days you'll have plenty of time to simply enjoy the resort, the river and the beautiful surroundings.

You can do as much or as little as you like.

It's Thailand, your way.

Day 1 | Lake Views & Elephants

After dropping the paddlers at the start of their first adventure, we'll head for a relaxed coffee overlooking the water before continuing on for lunch. The afternoon takes us into the world of elephants, with a visit to a local elephant camp and the opportunity to learn more about these incredible animals.

It's a gentle introduction to Kanchanaburi and a chance to settle into the slower rhythm of Thailand before returning to the resort.

Day 2 | Erawan Falls & Old Siam

Today is one you can enjoy together. We'll head into Erawan National Park to explore the spectacular Erawan Falls, a beautiful seven-tiered waterfall surrounded by lush forest. The waterfall hike takes us through the different levels, with time to explore the jungle, discover the pools and, conditions permitting, take a dip along the way.

After lunch, the paddlers will continue their adventure on the water while we'll head on to Mallika R.E. 124, a living-history style cultural attraction recreating life in Thailand during the early Rattanakosin period.

If you'd prefer a slower afternoon, there's also the option to return to the resort for some pool time or a massage.

Day 3 | Big Trees, Temples & The Bridge

A day that brings together some of Kanchanaburi's most recognisable sights. We'll start with the enormous Big Tree and a visit to the Tiger Temple area before stopping for lunch. In the afternoon, we'll meet back up with the paddlers to explore the history of the region, with a visit to the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and museum, followed by time around the famous Bridge over the River Kwai.

It's a fascinating day that gives you a much deeper understanding of the landscape and the history behind one of Thailand's best-known regions.

Day 4 | Bikes & The Big Dam

Today is one to enjoy together, with the paddlers and their partners heading out on bikes to explore the local area.

We'll take in the scenery at a completely different pace, with time to enjoy the countryside and see a little more of rural Kanchanaburi. After lunch, we'll continue towards the spectacular Vajiralongkorn Dam, with its huge reservoir surrounded by mountains and jungle. It's a day for getting out into the countryside, seeing more of the region and enjoying the freedom of being off the main tourist trail.

Day 5 | Raft Life & Waterfalls

Today is deliberately more relaxed.

We'll spend some time enjoying the river from a different perspective, with time on a traditional raft and plenty of opportunity to simply chill, swim and take in the surroundings.

After lunch, we'll head to Sai Yok Yai Waterfall, while the paddlers continue their adventure through the river and waterfalls of Sai Yok.

Day 6 | Hellfire Pass & Jungle Caves

Today takes us deeper into the history and landscape of the River Kwai.

You'll join the paddlers at the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre, learning about the Burma–Thailand Railway and the people who were forced to build it during the Second World War. There is time to visit the museum and walk part of the memorial trail, taking in the landscape and the remains of the railway cutting.

After lunch, we'll head back into the jungle for a completely different experience, with a hike and cave adventure.

Day 7 | Sai Yok & Farewell

Our final morning takes us to Sai Yok Noi Waterfall, another beautiful spot tucked into the jungle and close to the historic railway line. We'll have time to explore and enjoy the falls before meeting up for lunch and beginning our journey back towards Bangkok.
