Adventure-Based Training to build resilience and adaptability
Recovery & Mobility to maximise performance and consistency
Mindset & Focus to improve confidence and execution under pressure
The Experience – Day by Day
Day 1: Activation, Technique & Analysis
We begin by establishing the foundations.
The opening day is focused on waking up the body, dialling in technique, and setting performance benchmarks. A double session on the lake allows you to get comfortable on the water while receiving immediate technical feedback.
Video analysis in the afternoon gives you a clear understanding of your movement, efficiency, and areas for improvement, setting the tone for the rest of the camp.
Why it matters:
Starting with technique ensures that everything built over the next five days is efficient, controlled, and purposeful.
Day 2: Endurance & Flow
The second day begins with a low-intensity bike ride, designed to gently build aerobic capacity, loosen the body, and prepare you for the main session.
This is followed by a longer river paddle, where the focus shifts to endurance, pacing, and consistency. You’ll learn how to find rhythm and maintain efficient technique over distance.
Why it matters:
Endurance is the foundation of performance. This day builds aerobic capacity while reinforcing efficient movement patterns under sustained effort.
Day 3: Adventure & Race Execution
The morning takes you into a waterfall environment, combining hiking, climbing, and swimming. This develops functional strength, balance, and adaptability in a completely different setting.
In the afternoon, we transition back to the water for a race simulation session, focusing on:
Starts
Turns
Positioning
Pacing under pressure
Why it matters:
Performance isn’t just about fitness, it’s about execution. This day challenges both your body and your ability to apply skills in dynamic conditions.
Day 4: Engine Building & Integration
Day four is about building your engine while allowing flexibility.
A cycle or run session in the morning develops cardiovascular fitness and leg endurance, with the option to tailor intensity depending on how your body feels.
In the afternoon, a river paddle brings the focus back to technique and efficiency, reinforcing everything learned so far in a lower-pressure environment.
Why it matters:
This day balances load and recovery, allowing adaptations to take place while continuing to build endurance and skill.
Day 5: Performance & Completion
The final day brings everything together.
A longer river paddle from the hotel to the bridge acts as the camp’s closing challenge, an opportunity to apply your improved technique, pacing, and endurance in a real-world setting.
The camp concludes with a performance review and goal-setting session, helping you translate what you’ve learned into your future training.
Why it matters:
Finishing with a full performance effort reinforces progress and gives you clarity on how to continue improving beyond the camp.
Recovery & Performance Support
Each evening is dedicated to recovery and preparation:
Strength & conditioning focused on stability and injury prevention
Mobility and flexibility work
Massage and recovery treatments
Structured downtime to reset physically and mentally
Why it matters:
Progress doesn’t just come from training, it comes from how well you recover and adapt.

Paddling This is a downriver adventure paddle on moving water. You should be comfortable paddling on flowing rivers (for example, something like the River Trent). If you’re newer to multi-day or adventure paddling holidays, don’t worry, we have plenty of time to support, coach, and build your confidence. If you’re unsure, please get in touch and we can make a plan together.
The River flows steadily, and we paddle with the current, meaning we cruise downstream, watch the km drift by, and enjoy the ride. Depending on if the dam has been opened upriver the flow can be between 5 and 10kmph without paddling. We’ll typically paddle: Morning and/or afternoon sessions Approx. 2–3 hours per session With a long lunch stop in between to eat, swim, snooze, and sightsee Our land-based support team meets us at the river at the end of each day.
Are you a POP - Partner of a Paddler? You can join us too! There are lots of non paddling activities on the itinerary that you can join. And when your partner is paddling you will be transfer to the next hotel and have the option of different landbased excursions.
Food & Dietary Needs We’re very happy to cater for dietary requirements. Meals are shared as a group, with dedicated tables for vegetarian and vegan options, so there’s no cross contamination.
Hotel Views Great Food & Coffee Our local guides carefully choose each meal to balance authenticity with comfort, introducing the flavours of the region while ensuring the food sits well with our taste palettes. Eating well, having lots of choice and a full belly is part of the adventure, and a big part of experiencing the area we’re travelling through.
