WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS

TECHNIQUE TIDY UP

Reviewing and drilling all the parts of the stroke that make an effective technique followed by an hour of interval training putting those drills into practice

EVENT & RACE SKILLS

Covering essential race skills to get you around your event, focusing on starts, finishes, turns, drafting, strategy, fuelling and equipment.

DRAFTING 101

Drafting is an essential skill to have in your paddling repertoire. It can be applied in a competitive event to strategically give you an “edge” and win a race. It can also be applied in a team endurance event to work together, motivate, save energy especially if paddling into wind.

This 2hr workshop is dedicated to learning the skills of drafting, the etiquette, how to draft as a team and how to draft competitively.

You will leave feeling confident on your skills for leading, mid pack, breakaways and finding your drafting language and your personal strategy for your upcoming events and adventures.

Everything you ever needed to know about drafting and paddling in windy conditions. You’ll pick up loads of tip and have lots of practice time. Essential skills for racers and adventurers alike. All abilities welcome.

FOOTLOOSE - MOVE YOUR FEET!

Working on unsticking your feet from the board. Including pivot turns, railing, knee drops, bracing, stance switches, one leg paddling :P.

STRAIGHT LINE

Do you zigzag whilst paddling? Swap paddling sides every few strokes? Do your arms get tired?

We can help get you paddling straighter, for longer and a little bit faster.

We will be covering : Straight line paddling, tracking, correction strokes and your efficiencies and "off water" mobility exercises.

SAFETY AND RESCUE SPLASH

This workshop is designed to increase your safety knowledge, skills and confidence out on the the water by working through what happens when you fall off your board. It is important to regularly check your ability and knowledge in self rescues and with your current equipment. Expect to leave wet and happy

Covering:

Safety and Rescue: Leash management, flotation device, self rescues, peer to peer rescues, safer paddling, understanding conditions.

Splash Skills: Footwork, pivot turns, advanced paddling techniques, optional SUP Yoga, and more.
